Class Descriptions

 

ACTING

What: Mr. Sean plans to help you uncover the amazing world of the dramatic arts. If you’re trying to build your confidence, to learn to improv (in interviews, on-stage questions, in class presentations etc), to work with scripts and memorization skills, or develop your vocal variety and communication skills, this acting course is perfect for you! Mr. Sean will also help you develop your articulation skills and become more comfortable with yourself and working with others. 

Who: This course is for ages 8 and up

Wear: Comfortable clothing, nothing too tight or revealing. Closed toe, flat shoes preferred. No accessories.

Needed: pen, paper, and an open mind!

Class duration: 1 hour for 8 weeks 

Fee: $40/class hour

 
WORK YOUR PACKAGE

What: This class will be all about helping YOU reach your true potential by providing action steps to implement immediately AND giving you the motivation needed to overcome obstacles and feel empowered to reach goals and face each challenge with more confidence. The course will use content from the book, “Work Your Package – A Guide to Being the Total Package” to propel the instruction and subsequent discussion. During the course, Miss Ayanna will guide the YOU towards the goal of developing a vision, being of service to others, being confident, appreciating the gifts and talents you have and being empowered to become extraordinary.

Who: This course is for ages 8 and up.

Wear: Comfortable clothing, nothing too tight or revealing. Closed toe, flat shoes preferred. Minimal to no accessories.

Class duration: 1 hour for 8 weeks

PUBLIC SPEAKING + CONFIDENCE DEVELOPMENT

What: You are often asked to make speeches or presentations in school, at your extracurriculars, in interviews and more. In fact, many people find public speaking to be their #1 fear. This class is all about helping you develop your confidence, eliminate your fear of speaking, insert enthusiasm and vocal variety into your speaking, and present yourself in a confident and packaged manner. In addition, we will work on memorization skills, choosing the right words, making your words and ideas flow, and using gestures and body language to make your presentations and personal appearance much more confident!

Who: This course is for ages 8 and up.

Wear: Comfortable clothing, nothing too tight or revealing. Closed toe, flat shoes preferred. Minimal to no accessories. 

Needed: pen, paper, and an open mind!

Class duration: 1 hour for 7 weeks (see note below) 

Fee: $40/class hour

Note: this particular class will not meet during the week of Nov 2-9, in addition to the Thanksgiving week off.

 

PAGEANTS AND MODELING 101

What: If you’ve ever dreamed of learning to walk the stage or runway with confidence, answering questions and presenting yourself in a positive manner, marketing yourself, and learning how to handle auditions and interviews in the industry, this class is for you! We will also discuss dressing for success and developing that personality and vocabulary to help you stand out in your next interview or audition. Basics covered will include: runway/swimsuit/fun fashion walk vs. gown walk, standing and presenting your self in an audition vs. an audition, various runway/stage turns and poses, and more.

Who: This course is for ages 8 and up.

Wear: Skirt and nice top OR length-appropriate dress; look professional and ready to work in the industry. We will need to see your legs (not upper thigh) during practice to work on poses, turns etc. Minimal to no accessories. Closed toe, high heeled shoes preferred.

Needed: pen, paper, and an open mind!

Class duration: 1 hour for 7 weeks (see note below)

Fee: $40/class hour

Note: this particular class will not meet during the week of Nov 2-9, in addition to the Thanksgiving week off.

 

ONLINE COURSE: Personal and Life Skills Development

What: It is time to excel! It is time to go beyond the classroom and learn some valuable life skills! In this class, we will feature guest speakers who will discuss social media etiquette/formal communication, networking, getting involved in your community, how to apply for college (paperwork, applying for scholarships, admissions process etc), how to fill out a job application and apply for a job, how to open a bank account (and the differences between checking, savings, and debit), and much more!

Who: This course is for ages 8 and up, as we will discuss a variety of topics! Parents are encouraged to join in this class as well, no fee added.

Wear: whatever you’d like! This is from the comfort of your home! You will most likely be on video though…

Needed: pen, paper, and an open mind!

Class duration: 1 hour for 8 weeks

Fee: $40/class hour
